The launch party in Jindabyne went off! So we thought we’d take it on the road and give Victoria a chance to indulge in the shenanigans too..
Laced HQ being located in south coast NSW, there was a pretty big trip ahead. And myself being in-between cars right now, makes that trip almost impossible. Luckily - or not so - my friend had recently lost her license due to an unfavourable mouth swab. It had freed up her snow commodore (Subaru) for the Laced CEO to take the wheel. With a bed somewhere beneath merch and artworks I set off.
First stop was the local, Perisher. I rolled in the night of a storm and was pretty stoked to have scored it. Not too busy, sun and the snow was considerably dry. For the amount of years I’ve ridden there I still don’t know my way around, outside of Perisher Valley. Man, it’s a pretty big resort. I headed back to town to get some fuel, human fuel and skate Jindy park before tripping over the range. Driving past Thredbo, it had me reminiscing on how good that Tbar lap is. A quick whip of the wheel, chucked a mad skid and decided on an impromptu stop in.
Cozy spot
Thredbo did not disappoint. Besides the paranoid sleep in the car park, due to a homie being pulled out of his car by police the night before. Gotta remember to lock yourself in kids! It was so good to see some old faces and lap the cruiser park again. It’s actually wild the amount of reps you can get on that thing. The sun started to sink into the background, I put a can of chunky on the burner and was back on the road.
Pots are overrated
Waking up at Taron’s place felt like a a hotel compared to the back of the car. It had been a couple years since I rode south of the boarder so having the local show me around was key. We scoped out some lines off the summit chair, the leftovers from the 50cm storm was deep and creamy. It was kinda like riding in pools of cottage cheese.
Dreamy boy and creamy run
We love pizza
I just had to tick Hotham off while I was down here. After convincing Taron to take the next day off work we set off to shelbyville. The weather was dog shit. Howling winds, brick snow and two under prepared foreigners missing home. We had more beers than runs that day. Two laps and we decided to peace out. 200m up the road and Taron’s Ranger decided to have a blow out. Luckily we broke down outside of the pub.
He doesn't know what he's looking at..
Finally, Thursday, the launch party day rolls around. In true Laced unorganised fashion, we didn’t have any of the sponsors gear. We had called in a few favours and had minions bringing box’s of giveaways from far and wide. Hoping they’d make to the party on time. I get to The Chophouse and set up. It’s absolutely pissing down. Not knowing if the locals might want to sink beers or rather stay in for the night.
Some crew started to roll in. They looked soaking wet, thirsty and hungry for a good time. This is what follows..
The setup
The beers were flowing

I'm glad we went to bed at some point.
The past week was a blast. Being back on the road and and seeing friends, riding different mountains is good for the soul. Can't wait for come back!
I'm glad I used all my film because the next day I went to Melbourne for a bucks weekend. Some nights you don't need to remember..
